Susan Williams, from Rubery Green, has been sentenced at Birmingham Magistrates Court for making false housing benefit claims, costing the tax payer £12,977.
Williams claimed housing and council tax benefit but failed to declare the full extent of her savings to the City Council. If she had declared the true facts when she first claimed there would have been no entitlement to housing and council tax benefit.
Prior to sentencing Williams had repaid the debt to Birmingham City Council in full.
She pleaded guilty in Court to two offences under the Social Security Administration Act, and received a six month supervision order and was told to pay £1,062 in costs to Birmingham City Council

Something wrong somewhere. A vicar owing about £60 in council tax goes to prison for 28 days. A woman defrauding other tax payers does not
British Justice? I think not.
